The staff of the Florida Keys Mossquito Control District (FKMCD) stands ready to help you with all things related to mosquitoes or mosquito control in the Florida Keys.

FKMCD is one of about 15 Independent mosquito control district's currently operating within the state of Florida. 

Since its humble beginnings in the early 1950's FKMCD's science and research based approach to mosquito control is now recognized as an industry leader and innovator. 

All District operations are supervised by a sitting board of five commissioners which are elected at large to four year terms. FKMCD is funded almost entirely by property taxes at a rate established by the Board of Commissioners, so day to day activity does not end with a charge for service. 

Mosquito Control in the Florida can take many forms based on the scale of the issue. Most interactions with our staff will begin with a visit from one of more than 35 field inspectors which you can request here or by calling us at 305.481.2207.
