Key West welcomed Dr. Duane Gublar, one the world’s top experts on tropical diseases, to speak about his experiences with dengue fever during a forum at the Harvey Government Center. Dr. Gublar has 40 years of experience working with emerging infectious diseases and sees dengue fever as a growing problem in tropical areas. An audience of over 70 people greeted Dr. Gublar with a variety of questions and concerns. Dr. Duane Gublar expressed that dengue fever has the best chance to be eliminated in Key West than anywhere with its location, size and outstanding Mosquito Control program.
