    Director of Maintenance (Aviation) –  Florida Keys Mosquito Control Facility – Marathon, Florida

    The Director of Maintenance (DOM) oversees, inspects, and evaluates the work of the district’s Aircraft Mechanics and Technicians to ensure proper maintenance and operation of the district’s fixed and rotor wing aircraft.  The DOM must maintain District aircraft in compliance with the directives and standards of the Federal Aviation Administration as well as policies and procedures set forth by the District Board of Commissioners and administered by the Executive Director.  Job Description Click Here

    Domestic Inspector (2yr Funded Position)-  Florida Keys Mosquito Control Facility -District Wide responsibility (FRS Eligible Position)

    The Inspector is responsible for mosquito control and surveillance activities to aid the district’s larvicide and adulticide programs. The Inspector assesses larval and adult mosquito populations throughout an assigned area, works with field inspectors to establish areas of high concern and survey all residences in the assigned area, makes control decisions in the field deciding the appropriate control method(s), applies the control method(s) in accordance with the applicable laws and District policy, collects and identifies mosquito species in the field, records all daily activity in the Fieldseeker database system via District approved device, and reports mosquito problems to the supervisor as needed.     Seasonal Field Tech Position (6 Month appointment)-  Florida Keys Mosquito Control Facility – Key West, Florida

    The Field Tech assist in mosquito control and surveillance activities to aid the district’s larvicide and adulticide programs. The Field Tech will assist in assessing  larval and adult mosquito populations throughout an assigned area, establishes a weekly route and works from that route which may include and survey all residences in the assigned area, makes control decisions in the field deciding the appropriate control method(s), applies the control method(s) in accordance with the applicable laws and District policy, collects and identifies mosquito species in the field, records all daily activity in the handheld computer, uploads data into the District database, and reports mosquito problems to Supervisor as needed in a timely manner.

    Hourly Rate: $17.00 –  Not an FRS qualified position and is not eligible for benefits.
